Pre-Competitive Classes Overview

Grade 6 – 12

• Pre-Competitive Level 3/4 Jazz Choreography
  • Can be added on if enrolled in Level 3 or 4 Combo recital class – enroll HERE for the Combo recital class

• Pre-Competitive Level 3/4 Hip Hop Choreography
  • Can be added on if enrolled in Level 3 or 4 Hip Hip Hop recital class – enroll HERE for the Hip Hop recital class

Class Details & Registration

Pre-Competitive Jazz Choreography

Full-Year Competition Class // Grade 2 – 12
Classes run from September to June

ADD ON a Progression Pre-Competitive class that attends two local competitions in Spring 2027 and performs in our Year-End Recital in June 2027! Progressions Pre-Competitive Jazz can be ADDED ON if your dancer is also enrolled in a Progressions Combo class.

Progressions Pre-Competitive Requirements: 

• To enroll in Pre-Competitive Jazz, students must also be enrolled in a Progressions Combo recital class. View our Combo recital classes HERE!

• Progressions Pre-Competitive classes are an add on, so your child would be attending two classes per week (Recital class + Pre-Competitive class)

• Must be available to attend Dress Rehearsal:
• Dress Rehearsal: April 3 & 4, 2027
• Must be available to attend two local competitions in Regina in Spring 2026:
• Competition #1: Candance // April 22-25, 2027
• Competition #2: TBD – likely beginning of May, 2027
• Must be available to attend recital:
  • Level 1/2 classes: Friday, June 11th at 7:00pm
  • Level 3/4 classes: Saturday, June 12th at 7:00pm

Jazz Dress Code: Boys

Apparel

• Black Shorts or fitted athletic pants (pants recommended for Level 3 & up)
• White Fitted T-shirt
• White Socks

Shoes (Purchase at Dance Store)

• Levels 1/2 & 3/4 Jazz
  • Black Jazz Split-Sole Elasta Booties (no laces, Bloch or Capezio)

Hair

• Pulled off the face

Pre-Competitive Jazz Tuition for the season is divided into four (4) equal payments and will be paid: Upon registration ($257.00), November 1 ($257.00), January 1 ($257.00) and March 1 ($257.00) and are subject to GST. PST will also be charged on dancer’s recital costume.
Tuition Includes: Dance classes from September – June, Dancer’s Competition / Recital Costume, Competition Fees and Recital Fees.

Fees listed do not include $40 +GST registration fee and 2% credit card surcharge

• Indoor all white runners
• Hair pulled off the face / in bun or ponytail

WITHDRAWAL POLICY 10 MONTH PROGRAM // SEPTEMBER TO JUNE/ // PROGRESSIONS PRE COMPETITIVE PROGRAM

• A parent/guardian must complete a cancellation form provided by Dance City prior
  to the next tuition pay period (Prior to November 1, January 1, March 1).
• Credits and/or refunds are not offered if cancellation form is not filled out
  before the next installment pay period (Prior to November 1, January 1, March 1).
• If lessons are canceled prior to November 1, costume becomes the property of Dance City.  No refunds or credits provided.
• Costumes are property of Dance City until your account is paid in full.
• Costumes are property of Dance City if they are not picked up by June 15 (including costumes not picked up from quick change).
• Any cancellations after October 31 will be charged the full competition fees
  (all remaining installments and tax).
• Any cancellations after October 31 will be charged the full costume fee
  (all remaining installments and tax).

• Tuition fees / installments are non-refundable.
• 1st installment upon registration is also non-refundable
• Registration fees are non-refundable.
• Costume fees / installments are non-refundable.
• Competition fees / installments are non-refundable.
• Recital fees / installments are non-refundable.
• Refunds are not provided for any missed classes.
