Performance

Our recreational performance classes offer the perfect opportunity to continue your dance education with minimal commitment and a performance opportunity at the end of the year. All of our recreational classes are taught by highly-trained Dance Educators.

 

Pre-Exam Combination

 

This class is for beginner dancers who have completed Advanced Tiny Tots or for seven to eight year olds that are new to dance. This class includes tap, jazz and acrobatics and is a 1.5 hour class once a week. Students finish the season in June performing in our annual year end recital at the Conexus Arts Centre but does not participate in competition. The competitive Pre-Primary ballet class is recommended at this level for students with previous dance experience. 

Dress Code: Women

Shoes: Beige leather low-heel tap shoes (Bloch Mary Jane or Capezio) and pink full-sole ballet slippers (Bloch or Capezio) for the jazz portion.

Apparel: Academy pink RAD tank bodysuit (pinch front) #1633.

Tights: Mondor #314 suntan beige tights (must be convertable for acro).

Hair: Ponytail, bun or pigtails.

Dress Code: Men

Shoes: Black leather lace-up tap shoes (Bloch or Capezio) and white full-sole ballet slippers (Bloch and Capezio).

Apparel: Black shorts and white t-shirt.

Socks: White socks.

Adult Tap/Jazz

This tap/jazz combination class is for the experienced adult that would either like to further their training or just stay dancing and is appropriate for adults aged 18 and up! Classes are one-hour, once a week and it is your choice if you would like to stay in for the full year and dance in our annual recital or participate until February.

Dress Code: Women

Shoes: Black split-sole, lace-up tap shoes (Bloch or Capezio) and beige jazz split-sole elasta booties (no laces, Bloch or Capezio).

Apparel: Yoga-type clothing or whatever you feel comfortable in.

Dress Code: Men

Shoes: Black split-sole, lace-up tap shoes (Bloch or Capezio) and beige jazz split-sole elasta booties (no laces, Bloch or Capezio).

Apparel: Yoga-type clothing or whatever you feel comfortable in.

Jazz

Students perform in the year-end recital but do not participate in competition. Previous experience in this discipline from Dance City is required to enrol in this class. Tuition for this class is a one time payment.

Dress Code: Girls

Shoes: Black split-sole elasta booties (no laces, Bloch or Capezio).

Apparel: Dancer’s choice of dance leotard.

Tights: Mondor #310 or #314 Suntan beige tights.

Hair: Off the face.

Dress Code: Boys

Shoes: Black split-sole elasta booties (no laces, Bloch or Capezio).

Apparel: Black shorts and white t-shirt.

Socks: Black socks.

 

Hip Hop

Students perform in the year-end recital but do not participate in competition. Tuition for these classes are a one time payment.

Dress Code: Girls

Shoes: Indoor white-sole runners.

Apparel: Comfortable clothing (no blue jeans).

Hair: Off the face.

Dress Code: Boys

Shoes: Indoor white-sole runners.

Apparel: Comfortable clothing (no blue jeans).
