Ages 7 to 17 years
Progressions Students dance 45 minutes – 4.5 hours per week

Dance City’s Progressions Dance Program focuses on performing and offers a wide variety of styles such as ballet, tap, jazz, hip hop and lyrical. These classes are great for all levels of experience including beginners. Dancers can take multiple classes in different styles while learning proper technique in a positive environment from our highly qualified teachers. Throughout the year, students enjoy performing in our Winter Wonderland Gala in December as well as the year end recital on the Conexus Arts Centre stage! How exciting!

Progressions has three levels:

  • Level 1 // Ages 7 – 8
  • Level 2 // Ages 9 – 11
  • Level 3 // Ages 12 – 17

Combo

Full-Year Performance Classes // Ages 7 to 17 years

Progressions Combo includes Ballet, Tap and Jazz and is a 1.5 hour class once a week. The professionally designed curriculum progresses from month to month, and features four in-class parent showcases throughout the year. Students have the opportunity to perform in the in-studio Progressions Winter Wonderland Gala and finish the season in June performing in our annual Year-End Recital at the Conexus Arts Centre.

Tuition for the season is divided into four (4) equal payments and will be paid on each of September 1 ($221.50), November 1 ($221.50), January 1 ($221.50) and March 1 ($221.50) and are subject to GST. PST will also be charged on dancer’s recital costume.

Tuition Includes: Dance classes from September – June, Dancer’s Year-End Recital Costume, and Recital Fees.

Pre-Competitive Jazz Choreography

Full-Year Competition Class // Ages 7 to 17 years

ADD ON a Progression Pre-Competitive class that attends two local competitions in Spring 2025 and performs in our Year-End Recital in June 2025! Progressions Pre-Competitive Jazz can be ADDED ON if your dancer is also enrolled in a Progressions Combo class.

Progressions Pre-Competitive Requirements: 

  • Progressions Pre-Competitive classes are an add-on, so your child would be attending two classes per week (Recital class + Pre-Competitive class)
  • Must be available to attend two local competitions in Regina in Spring 2025:
    • Competition #1: Candance Regina // April 24 – 27, 2025
    • Competition #2: VIEW Regina // May 1 – 4, 2025
  • Dress Rehearsal is mandatory for extra rehearsals held prior to competition
    • Dress Rehearsal normally runs beginning – mid April on a weekend

Hip Hop

Full-Year Performance Classes // Ages 7 to 17 years

Hip hop dance is an umbrella term used to refer to street dance styles (e.g. breaking, locking, popping, etc.) primarily performed to hip hop music or that have evolved as part of hip hop culture. The curriculum is carefully designed to suit each student’s age and ability and features four in-class parent showcases throughout the yearStudents have the opportunity to perform in the in-studio Progressions Winter Wonderland Gala and finish the season in June performing in our annual Year-End Recital at the Conexus Arts Centre.

Pre-Competitive Hip Hop Choreography

Lyrical

Lyrical jazz is a slow, expressive type of dance that incorporates ballet technique and aims to interpret a song’s lyrics through movement. The curriculum is carefully designed to suit each student’s age and ability and features four in-class parent showcases throughout the year. Students have the opportunity to perform in the in-studio Progressions Winter Wonderland Gala and finish the season in June performing in our annual Year-End Recital at the Conexus Arts Centre.

Acro

Technique // Ages 7 to 17 years

A combination of dance, limbering and floor tumbling, to emphasize strength, balance and flexibility. This class is highly recommended for our jazz and ballet dancers. Classes run from September to June and do not participate in the year-end recital or competition. This class provides continuous training and strengthening throughout the dance season. Classes are open to dancers 7 and up in our Foundations, Progressions, Competitive and Pre-Professional dance programs.

Acro Tuition is charged monthly and is subject to GST. September and June payments are both due in September. Following this, the below fee is charged monthly from October – May.

Acro Primary // Ages 7 – 8

Acro Level 1 – Advanced // Ages 9 & Up
Students ages 9 – 17 will be placed in a specific Acro level in mid August. Level 1 & Up Acro classes run on Friday evenings. Please register for the below class in order to be placed.

WITHDRAWAL POLICY 10 MONTH PROGRAM // SEPTEMBER TO JUNE // FOUNDATIONS PROGRAM, PROGRESSIONS PROGRAM & ADULT PROGRAM

  • A parent/guardian must complete a cancellation form provided by Dance City prior to the next installment pay period (Prior to September 1, November 1, January 1, March 1).
  • If lessons are canceled between August 1st and August 31st, a $100 + GST cancellation fee is charged (per dancer).
    • I.e., cancellation form must be filled out on / or before July 31st.
  • If lessons are canceled prior to recital, recital costume becomes the property of Dance City.  No refunds provided.
  • Costume fees / installments are non-refundable.
  • Registration fees / installments are non-refundable.
  • Recital fees / installments are non-refundable.
  • Refunds are not provided for any missed classes.

  • Refunds are not provided for any missed classes.
  • Registration fees are non-refundable.
