Ballet

Based on the Royal Academy of Dance syllabus, our ballet program is the backbone to all of our competitive students’ dance education.

Pre-Primary

An excellent foundation for the serious student to further their classical technique and is also beneficial to the pre-exam student. Students do not do exams at this level; however, all students enrolled in this class will participate in competition and our year end recital on both June 13 and 14, 2023.

All girls will be provided with a Dance City bodysuit and tights at the beginning of the season for a fee of $45 + GST and PST. Shoes for girls and boys can be purchased at Dance City beginning in August, and boys uniforms can be purchased at one of the local dance supply stores.

Primary

This class is for the serious student. Students will be placed in this class by the discretion of the dance educator. Students must attend one or two Intermediate Foundation ballet classes (see below) plus one pre-pointe/pointe class per week.

Intermediate

For the serious student and on the completion of Intermediate Foundation. Students will be placed in this class by the discretion of the dance educator. Students are required to take two ballet classes per week plus one pointe class.

WITHDRAWAL POLICY 10 MONTH PROGRAM // SEPTEMBER TO JUNE
(Fine Arts Academy, Progressions Program, Adult Program, Competitive Program, Pre-Professional Program)

  • A parent/guardian must complete a cancellation form provided by Dance City one month in advance of your child’s withdrawal from a class or classes. 
  • After this notification in writing you are responsible for one additional month’s payment (i.e. if you submit cancellation form to Dance City on November 1st, you will pay for the November classes and your child will withdraw at the end of November) and the automatic monthly credit card charges will be cancelled for subsequent months. The 7th of the month is the cut-off date to notify of withdrawal. Any notification after the 7th of a month will hold you responsible for that month’s payment and the following month’s payment (i.e. if you submit cancellation for to Dance City on November 8th you are still responsible for your November payment as well as your December payment even if it is your intention to withdraw your child(ren) at the end of November).
  • Cancellations are not accepted for any classes after March 1st, NO REFUNDS will be given for the remaining months.
  • Registration fees and costume deposits are non refundable.
