Foundations Recital Classes

Toddler Tots 

Ages 3 to 4 years // Ballet & Tap
Classes run from September to June and dancers perform in our Matinee Year-End Recital in June

Foundations Toddler Tots focuses on movement and music for tots aged 3 to 4 years in Pre-Ballet and Tap. Our professionally designed curriculum is theme-based and progresses from month to month; each month students will take home a skill chart that outlines all of the steps that were focused on that month. Students have in-class parent showcases throughout the year and finish the season in June performing in our annual Year-End Recital at the Conexus Arts Centre. This is the perfect class for tots that are new to dance and for those that participated in our Teenie Tots class.

Dress Code: Boys

Apparel

• Black Shorts (or Sweat Pants for Tap)
• White Fitted T-shirt
• Black Socks

Shoes (Purchase at Dance Store)

• Black Full-Sole Ballet Slippers (Bloch or Capezio)
• Black Boys Lace-Up Tap Shoes (Bloch or Capezio)

Hair

• Pulled off the face

Tuition for the season is divided into four (4) equal payments and will be paid on each of September 1 ($170.45), November 1 ($170.45), January 1 ($170.45) and March 1 ($170.45) and are subject to GST. PST will also be charged on dancer’s recital costume.

Tuition Includes: Dance classes from September – June, Dancer’s Year-End Recital Costume, and Recital Fees.

Tiny Tots

Rising Stars

Ages 6 to 7 years // Tap, Jazz & Acro
Classes run from September to June and dancers perform twice in our Evening Year-End Recitals in June

Our Foundations Rising Stars class is designed for dancers who have completed Advanced Tiny Tots or for 6 to 7 year olds that are new to dance. This class includes tap, jazz and acrobatics and is a 1.25 hour class once a week. The professionally designed curriculum for this class is theme-based and progresses from month to month, and each month students will take home a skill chart that outlines all of the steps that were focused on that month. Students have in-class parent showcases throughout the year and finish the season in June performing in our annual Year-End Recital at the Conexus Arts Centre. At this level, it is recommended that dancers also take Competitive Pre-Primary Ballet in addition to Foundations Rising Stars.

Competitive Pre-Primary Ballet

Ages 6 to 7 years // Ballet
Classes run from September to June and dancers perform at two local competitions and twice in our Evening Year-End Recitals in June

Competitive Ballet Pre-Primary can be ADDED ON if your child is also registered in Foundations Rising Stars. Competitive Ballet Pre-Primary dancers are required to attend Easter Week Rehearsals, dress rehearsal in April, compete at two local competitions in Spring, and perform in our evening year-end recital in June at the Conexus Arts Centre.

Note: Competitive Ballet Pre-Primary payment and cancellation policies follow our competitive policy structure.

WITHDRAWAL POLICY 10 MONTH PROGRAM // SEPTEMBER TO JUNE // FOUNDATIONS PROGRAM, PROGRESSIONS PROGRAM & ADULT PROGRAM

• A parent/guardian must complete a cancellation form provided by Dance City prior to the next installment pay period (Prior to September 1, November 1, January 1, March 1).
• If lessons are canceled between August 1st and August 31st, a $100 + GST cancellation fee is charged (per dancer).
• I.e., cancellation form must be filled out on / or before July 31st.
• If lessons are canceled prior to recital, recital costume becomes the property of Dance City.  No refunds provided.
• Costume fees / installments are non-refundable.
• Registration fees / installments are non-refundable.
• Recital fees / installments are non-refundable.
• Refunds are not provided for any missed classes.
