Rising Stars

Ages 6 to 7 years // Tap, Jazz & Acro Recital Class
Classes run from September to June
Dancers perform in our Matinee Recital on June 12, 2027 at 1:00pm

Rising Stars is where passion begins to grow, building on the strong foundations dancers developed in Kinder Stars as they expand their training with Jazz, Tap, and Acrobatics. Through engaging monthly themes and a fun, encouraging environment, dancers build strength, coordination, confidence, and teamwork, with four in-studio showcases along the way. Many dancers also add Competitive Pre-Primary Ballet and Hip Hop Stars to explore even more, and this final chapter of our Foundations program ends with the excitement of performing on the Conexus Arts Centre stage at our Year-End Recital.

See your dancer in action each week and follow their progress through our class livestream. Dancers attend class independently, without a parent in the room.

At this level, it is recommended that dancers also take Competitive Pre-Primary Ballet AND Foundations Hip Hop Stars in addition to Rising Stars (see below).

Rising Stars Tuition for the season is divided into four (4) equal payments and will be paid: Upon registration ($249.75), November 1 ($249.75), January 1 ($249.75) and March 1 ($249.75) and are subject to GST. PST will also be charged on dancer’s recital costume.
Tuition Includes: Dance classes from September to June, Dancer’s Year-End Recital Costume, and Recital Fees.

Fees listed do not include $40 +GST registration fee and 2% credit card surcharge

Not quite ready to commit to the full season? Try it out first!

Start with our 6-week Rising Stars Extended Trial Class! Your dancer can experience dance for six weeks to get to know their teacher, make friends, and feel comfortable in a new environment before committing to the full season of dance.

Joining after the extended trial session begins? Your trial fee will be prorated based on your start date!

Extended Trial tuition is a one-time payment for all classes in session (not including GST and 2% credit card surcharge).

ADD ON Competitive Pre-Primary Ballet

Ages 6 to 7 years // Ballet Competition and Recital Class
Classes run from September to June
Dancers perform in two local competitions in Spring 2027 and perform in our Matinee recital on June 12, 2027 at 1:00pm

Competitive Pre-Primary Ballet is the perfect introduction to the world of competition, giving young dancers even more opportunities to perform while continuing to develop beautiful ballet technique. Our goal is not to create six-year-old competitors, but to help children fall in love with performing as members of one of Dance City’s youngest Competition teams. See your dancer in action each week and follow their progress through our class livestream. Dancers attend class independently, without a parent in the room.

Students attend two local competitions in Spring and finish the season in June performing in our annual Year-End Recital at the Conexus Arts Centre. Students MUST be enrolled in Foundations Rising Stars to enroll in Competitive Pre-Primary Ballet.

At this level, it is recommended that dancers also take Foundations Hip Hop Stars in addition to Rising Stars and Competitive Ballet Pre-Primary (see below).

Competitive Ballet Pre-Primary students are required to attend:

• Easter Week: March 29 to April 2, 2027
• Competition Dress Rehearsal: April 3 & 4, 2027
• Competition #1: Candance Regina, April 22-25, 2027
• Competition #2: TBD, likely beginning of May, 2027

Competitive students are required to attend all of the above dates, no exceptions

Pre-Primary Ballet Tuition for the season is divided into four (4) equal payments and will be paid: Upon registration ($274.28), November 1 ($274.28), January 1 ($274.28) and March 1 ($274.28) and are subject to GST. PST will also be charged on dancer’s recital costume.
Tuition Includes: Dance classes from September to June, Dancer’s Year-End Recital Costume, Competition Fees and Recital Fees.

Fees listed do not include $40 +GST registration fee and 2% credit card surcharge

Competitive Pre-Primary Ballet (Ages 6-7) Class Time:

This class is specifically for students enrolling in Rising Stars AND Pre-Primary Ballet
Classes run from September to June
Dancers perform in our Matinee Recital on June 12, 2027 at 1:00pm

ADD ON a Hip Hop Stars class that also performs in our Year-End Recital! Hip Hop Stars can be ADDED ON if your dancer is also enrolled in Rising Stars AND Pre-Primary Ballet.  Students MUST be enrolled in Rising Stars AND Pre-Primary Ballet to enroll in Hip Hop Stars.

Hip Hop Stars Tuition for the season is divided into four (4) equal payments and will be paid: Upon registration ($202.00), November 1 ($202.00), January 1 ($202.00) and March 1 ($202.00) and are subject to GST. PST will also be charged on dancer’s recital costume.
Tuition Includes: Dance classes from September to June, Dancer’s Year-End Recital Costume, and Recital Fees.

Dance Team Pom // Ages 4 to 6 years

NEW! Foundations Pom Tots is fun and energetic introduction to dance team pom for ages 4 to 6. Pom Tots focuses on basic pom technique, coordination, rhythm, teamwork, and performance skills in a positive and age-appropriate environment. Dancers will build confidence while learning exciting pom movements, choreography, and team spirit! See your dancer in action each week and follow their progress through our class livestream. Dancers attend class independently, without a parent in the room.

Foundations Groovy Tots combines Hip Hop & Jazz for your active little one! We offer two separate classes: Ages 3 to 4 AND Ages 5 to 6. No shoes or special clothing required and it is a great way to burn some energy, try out some new dance moves to great music and meet some new friends! Join us for an in-class showcase at the end of the session. See your dancer in action each week and follow their progress through our class livestream. Dancers attend class independently, without a parent in the room.

Tumble Tots

Acro, Dance & Floor Tumbling // Ages 3 to 6 years

Foundations Tumble Tots is a combination of Acro, Dance and Floor Tumbling, to emphasize strength, balance and flexibility. This is a great class for your active 3-6 year old with exercises that are carefully designed to suit your child’s age and ability. Don’t let your child miss out on enhancing the athletic stages of their development! Foundations Creative Tots is the ultimate creative class, combining Dance, Art & Crafts! This is the perfect class for your creative tot with a curriculum carefully designed to suit your child’s age and ability. Dancers attend class independently, without a parent in the room.

WITHDRAWAL POLICY 10 MONTH PROGRAM // SEPTEMBER TO JUNE // FOUNDATIONS PROGRAM, PROGRESSIONS PROGRAM ALUMNI & ADULT PROGRAM

• A parent/guardian must complete a cancellation form provided by Dance City prior to the next installment pay period (Prior to November 1, January 1, March 1).
• Credits and/or refunds are not offered if cancellation form is not filled out before the next installment pay period (Prior to November 1, January 1, March 1).
• If lessons are canceled prior to March 1, costume becomes the property of Dance City. No refunds or credits provided.
• Costumes are property of Dance City until your account is paid in full.
• Costumes are property of Dance City if they are not picked up by June 15 (including costumes not picked up from quick change).
• Tuition fees / installments are non-refundable. 1st installment paid upon registration is also non-refundable, even if classes have not begun.
• Costume fees / installments are non-refundable.
• Registration fees / installments are non-refundable.
• Recital fees / installments are non-refundable.
• Refunds are not provided for any missed classes.

WITHDRAWAL POLICY: SESSION CLASSES

• Cancellation refund is only accepted if cancellation form has been submitted to Dance City within 7 days of the student’s registration date.
• Any cancellations received after the 7 days may qualify for a class credit if cancellation form has been received before the 1st class of the session. Once the session has started, credits are not offered.
• Registration fees are non-refundable.
• Refunds are not provided for any missed classes.
